Kayla is currently playing her second season with Penfield. She describes the girls locker room as one of the biggest and nicest in the entire Webster arena. She is apart of the team’s off-ice warm ups, all pep talks, and is given the same expectations as the boys. “Girls hockey is pretty good in section v, so a bunch of teams had girls. It was pretty cool to have girls good enough to be on the team” says Nathan Audi, a Penfield hockey alumni. 3 of 4 women that played on the high’s school team continued to play college hockey, at division 1 and 3 levels. Audi had a great experience playing on the team for his years in high school, saying his time “was mostly about having fun with a side if winning”.
