The discussion of this club league began in January 2023. The club recognized that they had 175 girls eligible to play hockey in the 2023/2024 season. Jamie Buss, who is the mother of one of Kayla's travel teammates, led the planning of this club along with other parents. This league is to show athletic directors of section 5 that they have enough girls to play and create a varsity girls hockey team for their schools. The club is not affiliated with section 5 yet and includes grade 7 through 12. The club is composed of four teams that take every athlete that tries out, "it's a development opportunity, as well as a showcase…. we are using it as a recruitment tool, to get women's hockey to grow”, says Jamie Buss.
